Bulang Gets Smarter
After more than a decade of designs of products to be worn on brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier and Louis Vuitton, we decided to translate our designs into accessories for Apple devices, starting with the Apple watch. We call this special line of products: Bulang and Sons Wair.

Get to know the Designer
Bernhard Bulang
Being a true creative and designer at heart, moreover he has always had a soft spot for objects with a unique story, which he started collecting already at an early age.
After running a successful design agency in Maastricht, the Netherlands, Bernhard decided to follow his dreams and started designing entire accessories lines for products from brands like Rolex, Patek Philippe, Omega, Cartier, and Louis Vuitton. And so, Bulang and Sons was born.
Design Projects
1. The Ripstop Project
Bernhard’s passion and identity as a designer resulted in many successful design projects, of which we highlight a few projects here, starting with the Ripstop Watch Strap.
This strap was designed as an ode to the vintage army look and unique in its kind worldwide, being the first ever produced in this style. Today it is amongst the top 5 most sold straps of Bulang and Sons. It is made of a genuine leather base and vintage cotton ripstop. The cotton ripstop strap is arguably the most “Bulang and Sons” strap yet, if you ask us.
2. The Joie de Vivre Project

Parisian Lifestyle
Another great example is the Joie de Vivre collection, consisting of designs that are inspired by and refer to the culture and stories of different neighborhoods in Paris and more broadly in France, such as Montmartre and Le Marais. It is a true tribute to the Parisian lifestyle.
3. The MVRK (Maverick) Project

One further recent project called the MVRK collection was also enthusiastically received by Bulang and Sons fans.
The inspiration for this collection was the sequel of the Top Gun movie, which resulted in one-of-a-kind aviator jackets, keepall bags and watch straps.
HANDMADE IN ITALY
As a creative designer, Bernhard’s design ideas couldn’t be wild (and numerous) enough. Of course, he needed manufacturers and fellow designers to ensure that his designs were translated into high quality and stunishing products. His first search led him to Italy. Here Bernhard got to know the Italian Jean Paul Menicucci. He was not a regular leather manufacturer, but a true Italian artisan with a certain flair who sourced his leather where the best of the best in terms of designer brands also sourced their leather. With his authentic family business, Jean Paul Menicucci helped Bernhard to turn his dreams into reality by handcrafting the first Bulang and Sons straps ever sold... The Siena.

The second producer with whom Bernhard decided to join forces, was the German producer Kaufmann, which handcrafted the original watch straps for the Omega Speedmaster, the first watch that has been on the moon. In collaboration with Kaufmann, Bernhard succeeded at recreating the awesome designs of these iconic watch straps, insisting that the original tools would be used...
So why Apple Watch?
Looking back at more than a decade of designs of products to be worn on brands such as Rolex, Cartier and Louis Vuitton, Bernhard’s passion and identity as a designer has resulted today in the truly international brand of Bulang and Sons, with sales in more than 60 countries in Europe, USA, Latin America, Asia, and Northern Africa, and more than 150.000 watch straps and accessories sold in the last few years alone.
Bernhard has always admired Apple for their products, because of the incredible combination of outstanding technical quality and aesthetic designs. This, and the fact that many customers have asked for it, Bernhard decided to start translating his designs into accessories for Apple devices.
